COST GUIDE · 2026

What church video announcements cost in 2026

The real monthly cost of every way to make them: your own staff, a freelancer, template tools or a done-for-you service, with the hours counted in.

The short answer: most churches spend somewhere between about $240 and $2,200 a month on weekly announcement videos once staff time is counted. The option that looks cheapest in dollars is usually the most expensive in hours, and hours are what churches run out of first.

We have produced videos from more than 23,000 announcement scripts for hundreds of churches. Here is what each path really costs a month, with staff time valued at $25 an hour so you can compare them side by side. Swap in your own rate; the order rarely changes.

What drives the price

A person on screen

A host is the single biggest difference between a video people watch and a slide they ignore, and it is the hardest part to staff. Template tools leave it out. Freelancers rarely include it. In house, it is whoever said yes that week.

Every single week

One great video is easy to buy. Fifty-two of them, on time, through vacations, sick days and the week after Easter, is what really costs money. That is why per-video pricing adds up fast: at $150 to $500 a video, a weekly freelancer runs $600 to $2,000 a month.

Writing the script

Someone has to decide what goes in and write it well. That is the 15 minutes no option removes, and the part most churches find hardest. PVA Plus coaches and upgrades every script before it is filmed.

Hours nobody counts

Re-booking a freelancer, re-briefing a volunteer, fixing a template at 11 PM on Saturday: these never show up on an invoice, but they are real hours from people who have other jobs to do.

Questions churches ask about cost

How much do church video announcements cost?

Most churches spend somewhere between about $240 and $2,200 a month once staff time is counted. Template tools are $20 to $100 a month plus 2 to 5 hours of your time each week. A freelance editor is usually $600 to $2,000 a month. A done-for-you service like PVA is $447 a month with about 15 minutes of your time.

What does PVA cost?

PVA is $447 a month for a produced, hosted announcement video every week. PVA Plus is $596 a month and adds script coaching, weekly social content and Sunday Screens. There are no setup fees and no contract.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every church starts with Two Free Sundays. A card is kept on file and nothing is charged during the trial; your plan starts when it ends unless you cancel.

What does it cost for a multisite church?

PVA is $447 a month for the first campus plus $149 a month for each additional campus, with a video for every campus every week.

Is doing it in house cheaper?

Only if the hours are free. Making a weekly video in house usually takes 4 to 10 staff hours a week. At $25 an hour that is about $430 to $1,080 a month in salary time, before cameras, lights and software.

The 15-minute test: whichever option you choose, the honest question is what your team's hours are worth. If announcements take 4 or more staff hours a week, a flat-rate service usually pays for itself before you count the quality difference. See the full side-by-side comparison.
